On a cool fall morning, around 7:30 am, five
chartered buses lined up to take all 251 volunteers to the build site for the
2012 Home Depot Foundation Community Building Invitational. This year’s build was in conjunction
with the Sea Island Habitat for Humanity in Johns Island, SC. Calvin Pate, Jerry Johnson and the
other volunteers spent the day wielding hammers, shovels, tape measures and
saws as they built 6 new homes for deserving families. It was a very rewarding experience as
we got to work hand-in-hand with the wonderful families that will be living
there. HCC is very proud to
support such a worthy cause.
