(Atlanta, Georgia. December 10, 2012) The annual Carroll County, Georgia Workplace Safety Awards are a result of a partnership among the Georgia Department of Labor, on behalf of Mayor Wayne Garner and the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. HCC goes 87,608+ man-hours without accident or injury
The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce makes workplace safety a priority issue in its advocacy and policy efforts. The Chamber supports safe, productive work environments which are conducive to efficiencies, morale and speed-to-market, and which avoid costly litigation, in addition to compliance with a myriad of state and federal regulations, rules, inspections and review. They must also voluntarily adopt and adhere to standards that meet or exceed federal and state requirements.

The Chamber wants to encourage this level of commitment without burdening business with undue regulations that can be costly to implement, report and maintain, in addition to bringing economic disadvantages. The award salutes organizations for which safety and health have been made a top priority. Facility Maintenance and Painting Company, Harrison Contracting Co., Inc, was commended for observing safety procedures and for going 87,608 man-hours without an accident or injury.

The Carroll County Safety Awards are open to all organizations, regardless of size or number of workers affected. All businesses, unions, municipalities, schools, service organizations, nonprofit organizations or individuals are eligible to apply for the awards. To qualify, a company must be deemed to be free of compliance disputes concerning all applicable local, state and federal statutes and regulations.

The 2012 awards were presented at the state's annual Health and Safety Conference during the Governor's Workplace Safety Awards Breakfast, held on December 5, 2012. The Carroll County Safety award salutes those organizations for which safety and health have been made a top priority and are free of compliance disputes concerning all applicable local, state and federal statutes and regulations.
